SKY - The Players:
John Williams – electric (Gibson RD77) and acoustic guitar (Ovation Classic)
Herbie Flowers – Bass guitar, String bass
Kevin Peek – Electric guitar, 6 and 12 string acoustic guitars, guitar synthesizer
Tristan Fry – Drums and other percussion
Francis Monkman – Harpsichord, Piano, Synthesiser, Clavinet
A great bunch of musicians, fabulous music, well produced – a feast for the ears. This LP is the first foray into the rock scene for John Williams, the virtuoso classical guitarist, and brought much criticism from those who felt he was betraying his great talent. They need not have worried as Williams has shown an ability throughout his career to combine the finest classical work with collaborations with others in a wide range of music from ethnic to jazz.
