This is an unmodified matched pair of "white cap" Saras with Hiquphon tweeters dating to late 1982 / early 1983.
Widely known throughout the hifi community for the technologically ground-breaking isobarik design which allowed a much extended bass response for a given cabinet size, Linn Saras can reproduce true, solid bass to well below 40Hz. These speakers were a product of the liason years of Linn Products and Naim Audio when some remarkably synergistic combinations of equipment were produced which still work very well together even by today's audio standards.
This set of Saras have beautiful hand-rubbed and oiled Teak cabinets, a finish which emphasizes the soft golden glow of the wood and so much more attractive than the normal dull lacquer finish. The classy appearance is finished off with new original-pattern grilles. Please examine the photographs - Saras in this cosmetic condition are rare.
I am the second owner of this set which have been well looked after from new and used only with high quality, stable amplifiers.
It's worth bearing in mind that to achieve meaningful improvement with a set of modern speakers is likely to cost upwards of £2,000, such is the quality of this loudspeaker and its continued popularity on the second hand market. Unfortunately, many of the examples offered for sale today have been abused or modified and it is becoming increasingly hard to find an original set in such fine condition.
The speakers are offered alone as shelf mounted units, or they can be purchased with the optional stands for mounting close to a wall. A refund of £30 will be given if the speakers and stands are purchased together.
