Background

Heitor Pereira, born 29th November 1957, is a noted Brazilian acoustic guitarist and composer. In his early years, he composed for samba and jazz, collaborating with such well known jazz musicians as Ivan Lins and Lani Hall.

In 1988, he joined the band Simply Red where he remained until 1996, achieving several No1 single and album hits.

In 1999, he was contacted by the veteran composer

Hans Zimmer who invited him to join his Media Ventures company (now Remote Control Productions) in Los Angeles. The company maintains a roster of leading musicians and technicians to produce music for the film industry and multi-media projects such as video games. Pereira added the required Latin touch, and was soon collaborating in some of the more notable film scores of recent years, in addition to his solo projects.

This record set is the sought after and uncommon 1993 Heitor Ligeirin Promo album, not to be confused with the 1994 commercial release single album Heitor Ligeirin. The adjective ligeir in Latin American Spanish means "slim, light, lightweight, flippant, airy" which I think probably translates to Heitor in playful mood.
