Goldring Lenco GL75 Transcription Turntable   

Early 70s quality Swiss turntable mounted in wooden plinth.

Heavy 9lb dynamically balanced platter. Heavily engineered and will probably last for another five decades if looked after.

Turntable in full working order and in unmodified original condition.

Includes original arm (with Audio Technica cartridge) and strobe disc. The tonearm knife edge bushes seem to be still in good condition - I cannot detect any excess play. 

These decks are much sought after by collectors of older records as Goldring Lenco turntables are among the few with continuously variable speeds from approximately 15 to over 80rpm, with pre-sets at 16, 33,  45 and 78 rpm. This capability allows the deck to play shellac and vinyl discs from historical "talking books" at one extreme to "78s" at the other. The ability to continuously vary the speed is a particular boon to collectors of 78s as these discs may have been recorded at anything from around 72rpm through to 84 rpm depending on year and record label. 

Goldring Lenco decks are very good value for their extremely robust build quality and the combination of flexible speed range and overall audio quality has made them the choice of many professionals working on transcribing early shellac media into modern digital audio.  They are noted for delivering a solid bass fouindation. 

A very solid and enjoyable turntable at moderate cost with great tuning potential.
